How It Works?
It's easy, just build your profile and let the jobs come to you. When you build your profile, you tell us what your ideal job would offer; we match that to what employers are offering. The jobs that are matched to you are shown along side a number; the higher that number is, the closer it is to what you've outlined as your ideal job. If you receive an interview and are hired by an employer on our site as a result, than we will pay you the success bonus that you specified when building your profile.
Increase your chances of being noticed by marketing yourself using video, pictures and work samples.
Videos
One of the biggest reasons why video has not caught on in the recruiting marketplace is because candidates often have no guidance on what to create, which results in videos being either too long or too short, or just generally not what a evaluator wants to hear. We've come up with a system that makes creating videos as simple as answering questions on an interview.
First, we've limited the length of videos to two minutes each because our research has shown that recruiters aren't interested in watching lengthy videos. Figuring out what to say is easy; just answer some of the most common interview questions that we have listed next to each video. Here is the outline:
1st video – "My Introduction" answers the interview question "can you tell me about yourself?" (30 seconds or less).
2nd video – The 2nd video should walk a person through your work history, be sure to explain why you left each position (2 minutes or less).
3rd video – The 3rd video should answer the question "can you tell me about your greatest strength and your greatest weakness?" (2minutes or less).
4th video – In your fourth video, you're going to want to answer the question "where do you see yourself in 5 years and what are your goals?" ( 2 minutes or less).
5th video – The 5th video should tell a person why you should be hired; what makes you qualified for the position? Are you seeking a specific position? Talk about your relevant experience as it relates to what you are interested in.
Other videos - We do give you the option of doing your own thing, but we strongly recommend that you follow the outline above (other videos must be 2 minutes or less in length).
TIP – When creating a video make sure that what is in the background is appropriate for a professional video and that the video is clear of background noise. Also be sure to dress for success, pretend this is your first interview!
Work Samples
Put your best foot forward; showcase what you've done in the past and to impress potential employers. Although make sure that items that you are uploading do not break any privacy or copyright rules from your previous employer.
At least 60% of job openings are filled through networking and informal contacts; that is a powerful statistic. If you are not taking advantage of professional networking on the web than you are at a serious disadvantage when compared to your networking peers.
Paidinteriews is the place to start to build your professional network. Simply click on "Build a Network" to begin importing existing contacts from popular mail programs. A list will appear that allows you to pick and choose from your mail contacts who you would like to invite to your Paidinterviews network. Many of the networking features likes groups and feeds are similar to what you would see on Facebook or Myspace, but on a more professional level.
Paidinterviews is all about your career life; keep in contact with your co-workers and former co-workers using Paidinterviews. You may not invite your former boss to your Facebook page because it is very informal and unprofessional, but on Paidinterviews you can maintain contact with all of you're past colleagues while maintaining a higher level of professionalism.
Have you ever walked out of an interview thinking, "what would it really be like to work here?" Of course we have all have pondered this question at some point in our lives, but finding an answer can be easier said than done. That's why we've created the Watercooler, a place for candidates to talk about their past employment experiences, it's like Amazon product ratings, but for companies. A place where you can get unbiased answers about employers around the world.
The wisdom of crowds approach is something that has been perfected on the web by companies like Amazon, ePinions, and Wikipedia. The Watercooler harnesses the wisdom of crowds to organize information about previous employment experiences. Part of completing your profile is leaving feedback about your previous employers. This feedback will help potential candidates make more informed decisions.
Can't find the company your looking for? Not enough responses for you to make a decision? Once you're on the Watercooler tab, just click on "Ask about a company" and a message to everyone on our site who has worked for that employer will be anonymously shown in the Watercooler on the "My Companies" tab.
